Marvin, who is also an art restorer of repute, has painted in many styles, ranging from Impressionism and Surrealism to Romantic Realism. He has also done many portrait paintings, but Flamenco subjects are now his main interest. He is very well known in Spain and among the Gypsy population all over the world. Steel has exhibited paintings in galleries in Spain, New York, California and Florida. One-man shows were exhibited in Seville, Miami, Coral Gables, Sarasota, New York, and Palm Beach. Museum exhibitions include the Carnegie Museum, Baltimore Museum, Mystic Maritime Museum, Society of The Four Arts Museum, Lowe Art Museum, Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Art, and the Ringling Museum Art School. He has also created murals in various hotels and restaurants.
Also, in a recent tribute, Rancapino and Terremoto, both famous and esteemed Gypsy Flamenco singers (along with several others, he has painted) have dedicated songs and albums to "Marvin Steel, Flamenco artist."
