● John Massaro Conductor and award-winning composer and arranger of note. In the summer of 2005 he made his Carnegie Hall debut in New York City conducting the Mozart Requiem. As a result, he was invited to Europe to conduct several works by Mozart in 2006 as part of the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth. This tour includes Budapest, Krakow, Prague, Salzburg and Vienna. In other venues, he has coached the Los Angeles Opera Repertory Company, the Metropolitan Opera Young Artist Development program and Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. He was conducting assistant for Leonard Bernstein’s opera A Quiet Place and for Zubin Mehta’s and the Israel Philharmonic’s production of Madama Butterfly in Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem. For seven years he was Chorus Master and Assistant Conductor for the Arizona Opera and made his debut with the Phoenix Symphony in 2002, conducting a 9/11 memorial concert, which included his own arrangement of the National Anthem. He has also been the Musical Director for the Phoenix Theater and the Black Theatre Troupe. This season Mr. Massaro conducted the Sierra Vista Symphony Orchestra in a program of operatic favorites, music directed Amen Corner for the BTT, music directed the opening show, Anything Goes and Man of La Mancha at the new Arizona Broadway Theatre, and HMS Pinafore in Quincy, IL. He also conducted the Mesa Symphony in an all French program as well as their 50th anniversary concert. Opera ● Gail Dubinbaum Has sung leading roles with numerous opera companies throughout the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, Vienna State Opera, Opera Montreal, and Israel Opera. In addition, Ms. Dubinbaum has performed with most of the major orchestras in the United States under such conductors as Leonard Bernstein, Zubin Mehta, Christopher Hogwood, Kurt Masur, Gerard Schwarz, Andre Previn and Trevor Pinnock. Her festival credits include the Aspen Music Festival, Ann Arbor May Festival, Blossom Festival, Hollywood Bowl, and Tanglewood. She has also appeared on television in the series "In Performance at the White House" and "Live from the Met." Her DVD recordings include "Francesca da Rimini" with the Metropolitan Opera and the "Met Centennial Gala." Ms. Dubinbaum has been an instructor at the Aspen Music Festival, and over the past decade of teaching, her private studio has produced singers who repeatedly win national competitions and who sing leading roles with major opera companies. Dance ● Diana Brill Director/Choreographer whose work has been performed on Broadway (such as "Mame" with Angela Lansbury), in concert, and regional and international venues, including the Kansas City Opera, The Connecticut State Opera, The Providence Opera Company, The Habima National Theatre of Israel, plus theatres in Budapest and Buenos Aries. On TV, she has choreographed for The Tonight Show and the Tony Awards. A member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, she is also Director of Dance and Board Chairperson at the Roosevelt Island Cultural Center in New York City. |
